As the business expanded, Nuziveedu Seeds Limited (NSL) acquired three emerging seed companies Prabhat Agri Biotech Limited (PABL), Pravardhan Seeds Private Limited (PSPL) and Yaaganti Seeds Private Limited (YSPL), as its subsidiaries to establish itself as a seed company with the largest marketing and distribution network the country. These companies have a strong presence in major key states of India. Yaaganti Seeds Private Limited (YSPL) and Pravardhan Seeds Private Limited (PSPL) are known for their popular Maize products and Prabhat Agri Biotech Limited (PABL) provides a wide range of popular Cotton, Maize and Millet hybrids.
In 2004, NSL incorporated two 100% owned subsidiaries Asian Agri Genetics Limited (AAGL) and Fortune Hybrid Seeds Limited (FHSL) to cater to specific markets of Telangana and Maharashtra. Both AAGL and FHSL have grown to cater to the needs of smallholder farmers, especially small and marginal farmers.
All subsidiaries of NSL sell through their own exclusive distribution networks and have been catering to the diversity of agriculture market and consumer conditions in India and specifically aligned to the needs of smallholder farmers.
Yaaganti Seeds Private Limited (YSPL) was established in 1996 in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. Prior to launching this company the promoters were engaged in the Hybrid seed business under the brand name of “Laxmi Seeds”. Nuziveedu Seeds acquired YSPL in the financial year 2010 and the company is familiar with the name of Laxmi Seeds brand and also as YSPL. The company specializes in Maize, Cotton and Rice and has a strong network across India. The Maize hybrids of YSPL have been widely accepted in Karnataka, Andhra pradesh and Bihar.
Prabhat Agri Biotech Limited (“PABL”) started its operations in 1992 and has since been at the service of the Indian farmer. From its modest beginning as a seed trading company PABL has emerged as a fully integrated seed company in 1995, encompassing R&D, production and sales & marketing of various field and vegetable crops. The proprietary hybrids and varieties of PABL marketed under the brand name of ‘PRABHAT SEEDS’ enjoy wide patronage by the Indian farmer across the country in crops like Cotton, Maize and Pearl Millet (Bajra). PABL has started functioning as a subsidiary of Nuziveedu Seeds from the financial year 2011. PABL is among the fastest growing medium sized seed companies in India today. It also emerged as the ninth largest BT Cotton hybrid company in 2020.
Pravardhan Seeds Private Limited (PSPL) was established in 1971 based in Hyderabad, India and has been a premier Cotton hybrid company. PSPL was acquired by NSL and has been operating as a subsidiary since the year 2010. PSPL’s Cotton hybrids have been appreciated by farmers especially in Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Haryana and Punjab. PSPL is also developing its portfolio in Maize, Paddy and Millet.
Asian Agri Genetics Limited (AAGL) is a 100% owned subsidiary of NSL incorporated in 2004. AAGL specializes in Cotton hybrids and has a strong presence in Maharashtra, AP and Telangana. AAGL’s Bt Cotton hybrids, Goldcot and Ambuja have been widely accepted by farmers in Cotton growing tracts.
Fortune Hybrid Seeds Limited (FHSL) is a 100% owned subsidiary of NSL incorporated in 2004. The company has a strong presence in Vidarbha, Marathwada and Telangana.
